data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>This research exists because twenty-five people in a room in Nairobi gave us twenty minutes and an honest set of answers, and we&#8217;re grateful for it.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In August, at RI Tour Kenya 3.0 in Nairobi, we handed a <\/span><b>37-question research instrument<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the room and asked them to fill it in before the session ended.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Twenty-five senior leaders from twenty-four organisations did<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Country managers, commercial directors, ERP and data heads, national sales managers, chief commercial officers. Food and beverage, beauty and personal care, paints, chemicals, energy, pharma.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roughly half the room owns the commercial number and roughly half owns the systems underneath it, which tells you something on its own: field execution in this market is no longer a purely commercial mandate.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We expected the answers to be mixed. On most questions they weren&#8217;t.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-65b6611 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"65b6611\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>They can&#8217;t see what they need to see<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f0a2f06 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f0a2f06\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sharpest finding in the study came from two questions asked back to back on an identical scale: rate your <\/span><b>current<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> level of real-time visibility into field execution, then rate the level you believe you <\/span><b>need<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to hit your growth targets.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Current: 2.56 out of 5. Required: 4.48.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A gap of 1.92 points, 38% of the entire scale, from the same respondents, on the same scale, minutes apart.<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>84%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported a positive gap<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>64%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported a gap of two points or more<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>40%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> rated their current visibility at 2 or below<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Zero<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> organisations reported having more visibility than their targets require<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because both ratings come from the same person, this is a within-subject measurement, which is why it holds up so decisively at this sample size. The effect size is the largest anywhere in our data by a wide margin.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And it scales with complexity, not headcount. Organisations serving more than 10,000 outlets report a mean gap of 2.71, against 1.50 for those serving fewer than 2,000. Field-force size separates almost nothing. It&#8217;s the number of outlets to see, not the number of people looking, that determines whether an organisation feels blind.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2a9a9ff elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2a9a9ff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>Stuck at the midpoint of their own transformation<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b87dcae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b87dcae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We asked respondents to place their current operations on four opposing scales, 1 to 7. The results were almost eerily consistent:<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7085554 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"7085554\"
